The manager was exceptionally kind, helpful, warm and welcoming and treated me with total respect in a lovely old-fashioned way, which i really appreciated. The swimming pool facilities were great, and a real joy to spend time in and easily accessible to someone like myself who has limited mobility. I realised i hadn't asked for a ground floor room when i booked, which i needed, so i rang up on the morning i was to be arriving, and they instantly changed the room with no problem. My dinner was absolutely delicious, as was my breakfast, so it looks like they have a very good chef there and who is flexible when a customer - like me - asked to change a few things about the meal i was choosing from the menu. What came, was really super. My only suggestion is that they could consider offering a daily dish of the day so that people who are staying longer than one night are not choosing from the same menu all the time, even though i'm sure the chef would try and give you something different if you asked for it, but a dish of the day would be a good idea because people probably wouldn't like to ask. But as the chef is very good, it would also stretch him and allow him or her some creativity. My bed was very comfortable, and my room was lovely with a massive window with a view over the garden which was gorgeous. So all in all, i had a very good stay and would certainly recommend this hotel highly, and would stay there again myself.
